(d) Taxila is a town and an important archaeological site in Rawalpindi district of the Punjab province in Pakistan. In 1980, Taxila was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Takshashila became a noted centre of learning (including the religious teachings of Hinduism) at least several centuries BCE, and continued to attract students from around the old world until the destruction of the city in the 5th century. Takshashila had great influence on the Hindu culture and Sanskrit language. It is associated with many scholars as Chanakya,and Charaka(Ayurvedic healer) etc.
