There are five stations on a railway line. What is the number of different journey tickets that are required for railway authorities?

Solution:

There are 5 stations in a railway line.
So, number of the tickets required from one side

={ }^{5} \C_{2}

={5 !}/{2 ! 3 !}

={5 ×4 × 3 ×2 !}/{2 ! ×3 ×2}=10

∴ Number of tickets required from both sides

=2 ×10=20
