An equilateral triangle is inscribed in a circle of 462 sq.cms. The perimeter (in cms) of the triangle is

Solution:

Let the side of the equilateral triangle be s.
⇒ the radius of the circle that circumscribes the triangle

(r)=s\/√3

Given the area of the circle

πr^2=π(s/√3)^2=462

⇒ s^{2}=462 × 3 × \;{7}/{22}=441 ⇒ s=21

Required answer, the perimeter of the triangle

=3s=3×21=63
