Solution:

Let

\;{1}/{x+y}=a ;{1}/{x-y}=b

The given equations become

3 a+2 b=2

→(1)

9 a-4 b=1

→(2)
Solving (1) and (2)

a=1/3;b=1/2

∴\;x+y=3;x-y=2

x=\;{5}/{2} ; y=\;{1}/{2} ⇒ x: y=5: 1
