(b) Raja Ram Mohan Roy drew up a petition against the Jury Act of 1827. Mr. Wynn, President of the Board of Control, in his famous Jury Act (1827) rendered every Hindu or Muslim subject to trial by Christian jurors, either European or Indian,but the Christians including the native Christians, were made exempt from trial by non-Christian jurors, whether Hindus or Muslims.
